My name is Sable Otey, and I'm running for the Memphis Shelby County School Board District 5.  As a wife, mother, businesswoman, former educator, and community advocate.  I understand the critical importance of education in shaping our children's futures. That's why I'm committed to promoting general and financial literacy, ensuring our students are equipped with essential life skills for success beyond the classroom.

But it doesn't stop there.  As a former USA Bobsled athlete, I'm passionate about fully funding extracurricular activities because I believe every child deserves the opportunity to explore their interests and develop holistically. From sports to arts to academic competitions, these activities enrich our students' lives and help them thrive.

And let's not forget about our educators and support staff.  They play a crucial role in shaping the minds of our future leaders. That's why I'm dedicated to prioritizing mental health support for them, ensuring they have access to counseling services, stress management resources, and a supportive work environment.
